Install — four steps

While the Chrome Web Store listing is in review, install directly — it takes about thirty seconds and the extension works immediately, no configuration needed.

    Download & unzip

    Download the zip and unzip it anywhere — you'll get an annotated-extension folder. No build step needed.

    Enable developer mode

    Open chrome://extensions and flip on Developer mode (top right).

    Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped annotated-extension folder.

    Pin & open

    Pin annotated.to the toolbar and click it — the side panel opens on whatever tab you're on.

Prefer keys? Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + Y toggles the panel anywhere.

Recording audio commentary asks for microphone access once. If Chrome blocks the prompt inside the panel, the extension opens a small permission page in a tab and picks up where you left off.

The extension stores its sign-in token locally and only reads the page you clip from — details in the privacy policy.
